KUWAIT: As HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Third Annual Shooting Tournament continues, shooters are showing eagerness to compete harder to win the coveted cup, as shown earlier by juniors and Saturday by veteran women in the skeet and trap events. Kuwait Shooting Sport Club Assistant Secretary Mohammad Misfer Al-Ghurba said the tournament is progressing as planned and according to schedule. He said shooters are competing hard as they prove themselves in hopes of joining national teams to represent their beloved country Kuwait regionally and internationally. Ghurba said a press conference will be held on Tuesday to speak about the tournament and upcoming events.

Head of the shotgun referees committee Hamad Al-Ruwaisan said the tournament is seeing the participation of a large number of shooters including juniors, especially since there are upcoming international tournaments that may qualify shooters to participate in the Paris 2024 Olympics, adding Kuwait shooters represented Kuwait very well and is the only sport that brought Olympic medals to the country.

He said administrative and technical departments are working on preparing all those related to shooting, referees or shooters, and keep them informed about any changes or updates on the laws or rules by the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF). Ruwaisan thanked HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for his patronage of the annual tournament, and his continued care of the shooting sport and shooters.
