KUWAIT: Interior Ministry authorities are investigating a report of a shooting on Al-Aqsa street. According to a citizen who called police, shots were fired during an altercation on the street between unknown persons following a three-car traffic accident. Everyone involved fled the scene, however, before police arrived. A car bumper, with the license plate attached, was found at the scene and police are investigating.

Family feud turns violent

A violent family fight took place in Al-Qasr, Jahra area, ending in the injury of seven persons, who attached medical reports with their complaints. Investigations revealed that sharp objects were used. A student who lives in Saad Al-Abdullah area went to Al-Naeem police station with a medical report stating that he had a stab wound in the chest, then another student; his brother, submitted a similar report. Both said they had a fight with five of their family members and named a police officer. The officer, when called by investigators, submitted his own medical report indicating injuries to his hand. Two additional members of the family, another policeman and a fireman and a fifth who works in the civil implementation department participated in the fight. The two brothers said they were beaten by the other five without reason. Others said the fight was the result of a family dispute.

Luxury car stolen in Rumaithiya

Rumaithiya police station has issued a circular regarding a red luxury car that was reported stolen while parked near a co-op society. The car belongs to a 60-year old citizen.

Carpenter wanted

Salam police have placed the name of a carpenter on the wanted list after charging him with swindling a citizen. The man agreed with the citizen to build a wedding stand (kousha), for her son's wedding. She paid him KD 500 in advance, but the man did not fulfill the contract.

Phone listing fraud

A citizen accused a store clerk of registering four telephone lines in her name without her knowledge. She said she was surprised when she received a call from a telecom official asking her to pay bills to avoid legal action, then discovered that four lines were set up in her name. A case has been filed and investigations are ongoing.

Swindler caught

Criminal detectives solved nearly 14 cases of swindling of up to KD 200,000. Detectives learned about a bedoon who claimed to be a Gulf national and inviting local investors to do business with him.
