
KUWAIT: Farwaniya detectives discovered marijuana sent in a parcel from India via the UAE. Tips indicated that a postal parcel will arrive claiming it contains tealeaves, imported by a Pakistani man named Fakhruzzaman. Detectives arranged with the air cargo department to trace the parcel, and waited until the suspect received it. The suspect said he ordered the drugs for trade, taking advantage of the company he owns with a partner. He said he has been bringing this drug this way for some time. He was sent to concerned authorities. Separately, acting director of the customs department said with coordination between the detectives’ sector and northern ports customs, a container arriving from an Arab country was busted with a large quantity of illicit pills in it.
Campaign
Jahra municipality carried out an inspection campaign in a mall to make sure about signboard licenses as part of an ongoing campaign. The campaign resulted in issuing 25 citations – 13 for non-renewal, seven for having unlicensed signs, one for lack of maintenance and three for making signs without permission.
