KUWAIT: Dozens of Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor (MSAL) employees were terminated and their salaries were cut for being absent from work on multiple occasions without legal or medical justification. Some employees were absent following sick leave or leave of absence, while others wanted to work in other places and left before getting approvals, according to sources with knowledge of the situation. One source was quoted in a report saying that administrative decisions were taken to terminate a significant number of employees for not reporting to work. About the legal status of the terminated employees, the source said some of them applied to return to work, adding that their applications are being discussed.
