KUWAIT: Officials from the Lands and Housing Corporation of South Korea will visit Kuwait tomorrow to discuss procedures of building South Saad Al-Abdullah City based on an agreement between the two countries, source said. The delegation will discuss entry visas and work permits, as well as residence for workers, they added. The delegation are set to meet Housing Minister Yasser Abul and other state officials during their visit to Kuwait. South Saad Al-Abdullah City will be built as a 'smart city'. The environment-friendly city would spread over 59 square kilometers to accommodate 400,000 people. Kuwait's Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) and South Korea's Lands and Housing Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding last May to establish a joint construction company for the major project.

Hospital in Basra

North Basra Mayor Abdelnabi Al-Jabiri said Governor Majid Al-Nasrawi has earmarked a hospital project that will be built with a financial grant from Kuwait for the people of north Basra, adding that a delegation will visit Kuwait to negotiate over the requirements of this project. He said the hospital will have 100 beds. Nasrawi said His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah gave a financial grant to the governorate to build the hospital.

Price monitoring

The department concerned with price monitoring at the commerce and industry ministry held a meeting with fish suppliers yesterday. It plans to meet with interior ministry officials today and is preparing to intensify its inspections to keep track of prices. This comes as part of its preparations to monitor prices currently and during Eid Al-Adha.
