KUWAIT: National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanem yesterday underlined that anti-corruption is the responsibility of the two parliaments and stressed the importance of boosting integrity concepts. Speaking after inaugurating a workshop organized by the Arab Region Parliamentarians Against Corruption (ARPAC) organization at the assembly's building, Ghanem welcomed Arab legislators participating in the workshop that is mainly about battling corruption as first priority. The parliamentary workshop, which concludes today, groups members of shura councils and parliaments, the organization's chair Dr Nasser Al-Sane said in a statement to 'Al-Dostour' news network. The workshop is organized in cooperation with the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and several organizations in Kuwait, such as Kuwait Transparency Society (KTS), he said. The workshop aims to focus on the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). - KUNA
