KUWAIT: Special Olympics Men's Basketball Tournament was concluded on Thursday. The two-day event was organized by Kuwait Special Olympics in cooperation with Tomooh Sports Club. 60 players from 14 organizations participated. The tournament was carried out with the league system in two categories (16 to 21 years old and 22 and above) at Kuwait Basketball Federation's hall at Sheikh Saad Al-Abdallah Complex.

The first group title was won by the team of Omar Abdelsalamand Nawaf Abdelredha from Tomooh Club; Abdelmohsen Ali and Abdelwahab Essa (from Um Al-Quraschool);  Yousuf Ghuloom (from Kuwait Modern School) and Sultan Mizel (from Kuwait Society for the Welfare of Handicapped Persons). The title of the second group was won by Omar Obaid (from Al-Maarefaschool); Mohammad Bader (from Tomooh Club); Yousuf Khalil (from Al-Huda school) and Abdelaziz Mousa (from Conductive Education School).

Head of Kuwait Special Olympics Hanaa Al-Zawawi said the championship is part of Special Olympics' attempts to broaden the participation of mentally challenged persons in sports with the opportunity to discover their talents. Al-Zawawi was pleased with the friendly atmosphere of the tournament -  thanking Tomooh Club, Public Authority for Sport, Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences(KFAS), Kuwait Basketball Association,  Information Ministry and media for their support.
