KUWAIT: Kuwait Telecommunications Company – stc, a world-class digital leader providing innovative services and platforms to customers, enabling the digital transformation in Kuwait, celebrated the champions of Dawri stc 2021-2022 and concluded its sponsorship activities for the year. This marks the 8th consecutive year in which stc has sponsored the league, which falls in line with the Company’s commitment towards empowering young athletes and supporting the local sports community.
Dawri stc ended this year after a thrilling season that led to Kuwait SC emerging as champions of the 60th edition of the league where it marked the 17th time Kuwait SC has won the league equaling the record of both Al Qadsiya SC and Al Arabi SC.
stc, as well as members of the Kuwait Football Association (KFA), crowned Kuwait SC as winners of Dawri stc during the league’s closing ceremony. Engineer Maziad Alharbi, CEO of stc, and Sheikh Ahmed Youssef Al-Sabah, President of the Kuwait Football Association, presented the Kuwait SC with the season’s trophy with the attendance of the Public Authority for Sports General Director, Hmoud Flayteh. stc’s participation in the ceremony comes in support of the league as well as the various activities organized by the KFA such as the Amir Cup, Crown Prince Cup, Super Cup, and Federation Cup.
Commenting on the successful season, President of the KFA, Sheikh Ahmed Yousef Al-Sabah, thanked stc for sponsoring the league as well as the activities organized by the KFA for the 8th consecutive year. Al-Sabah expressed his excitement in welcoming back fans to the stadiums, which added to the excitement and thrilling action witnessed this season.
Al-Sabah said, “On behalf of the KFA, I would like to congratulate the Kuwait SC for their victorious win this season, as well as all the teams who participated in this year’s championship. I would also like to extend my appreciation to stc for their continuous support in the numerous functions that the KFA has held throughout the past several years as part of our strategic partnership. We look forward to more collaborative opportunities with stc that will assist us in supporting players in all aspects of football and work hand in hand towards a better future in sports.
stc mentioned in its statement that this year marked the return of fans to the stadiums since the onset of the pandemic. stc corporate communications team has prepared a set of interactive and engaging activities and surprises throughout this season to the attending fans under “Fan Zone” that was built specifically to interact with the fans in many competitions throughout the season.
In his role, Eng. Maziad Alharbi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the KFA for organizing a successful 2021-2022 season, especially following the impacts and restrictions of the pandemic. stc has been committed throughout the past several years in supporting the sports community in Kuwait under its CSR program.

We were proud to witness the teams perform outstandingly as they competed for the winning title, and in this regard, we would like to congratulate the Kuwait SC for winning the Dawri stc title for the 17th time in the club history.”
