DUBAI: EMC and Saudi Telecom Company (STC) today announced a strategic partnership is aimed at empowering STC teams with the knowledge, skills and capabilities to operate and manage next generation technologies to reinforce STC's successful transition to a full-fledged service provider.

With net income in excess of SR 5 billion, STC has pioneered the adoption of next generation technologies to help enterprises enable the agility, boost service delivery and competitive differentiation to help engage and retain the increasingly connected customer.

The STC Building Capabilities Program is designed in collaboration with EMC Education Services division and is built on EMC's value based Knowledge and Skills Analysis Service designed to help identify and address specific areas of operational challenge in order to optimize deployed and planned IT investments. As part of the service, EMC consultants interview and evaluate the skills of targeted IT professionals; examine the past training history in relation existing needs to conduct a training needs analysis and develop an action plan to close any skills gaps and achieve defined business objectives.

Armed with a thorough understanding of STC's current business environment and future roadmap, the program is designed to comprehensively fulfill STC IT Transformational needs. The STC Building Capabilities Program consists of the Organizational Development Plan (ODP) and the Individual Development Plans (IDPs). The former focuses on management summaries providing a concise training matrix based on the identification of key areas for STC, it provides deeper insights into the organization's workload, service nature, key IT disciplines, associated technologies, experience and certifications. The latter is designed to emphasize on individual job requirements and roles, specific technology expertise and certifications and customized training recommendations.

As part of the agreement, EMC and STC team will work together to enhance the skills and capabilities of the infrastructure Division at STC across the areas of information storage and management, cloud, and backup and recovery in addition to IT as a Service for business transformation.
