Steam overtakes Blizzard as most used gaming platform in Kuwait

KUWAIT: Steam overtook Blizzard as the most used video games distribution service in Kuwait according to latest government figures. Statistics for the third quarter of 2022 released by the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) Monday revealed that Valve’s Steam Service PC gaming app ranks ahead of Blizzard Games, Roblox, PlayStation Network and other apps in internet capacity consumption in Kuwait. Blizzard Games had led the ranking in the second quarter. Meanwhile, Facebook remained the most used social media app in Kuwait during the third quarter of 2022, ahead of Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram and Odnoklassniki, respectively. Notably, the CITRA statistics classify TikTok as a streaming app and rank it as the most used streaming service in Kuwait ahead of YouTube, Netflix and Twitch, respectively.
