MUSCAT: Sultan Qaboos issued orders yesterday to pay out cash rewards and grant residential lands to players of the National Football Team for winning the 23rd Gulf Cup held recently in Kuwait.

The official Oman News Agency (ONA) said Sultan Qaboos made the gesture in appreciation for the players' "grand accomplishment which instilled happiness in all Omanis and residents of this dear homeland, and in recognition of their top professional performance, which reflected the spirit of perseverance that distinguishes all Omani youth as they strive to realize honorable achievements in all international events." Oman won against the UAE in the 23rd Gulf Cup final that was held at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium. - KUNA
