KUWAIT: Under the patronage of HH the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Kuwait Science Club organized the 14th International Exhibition for Inventions in the Middle East, which has achieved great success in its previous editions and has become the second-largest exhibition for inventions after the Geneva International Exhibition globally. The exhibition opened on Sunday.

“I am pleased today to inaugurate the 14th International Exhibition of Inventions in the Middle East, organized by the Kuwait Science Club, representing His Highness the Amir. This comes as a continuation of His Highness’ directives in the care and support of inventions and innovations by Arab youth in general and Kuwaiti youth in particular,” Minister of Education Adel Al-Adwani said.

“It also aims to provide the scientific conditions for them to achieve further innovations and inventions to propel Kuwait towards global recognition by achieving tangible results that highlight Kuwait’s civilized image and its role in supporting and encouraging inventors. This sponsorship also aligns with the noble vision of His Highness the Amir to transform Kuwait into a knowledge-based financial and economic center, especially with the world’s shift towards new standards of growth and development based on human capital, which is one of the pillars of Kuwait’s 2035 vision,” he said.

“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the president and members of the Kuwait Science Club for their support of inventors and innovation, their embrace and optimal utilization of human resources and their development of capabilities in the field of innovation and invention. They have provided the necessary resources to promote a culture of innovation and belief from inventors’ experiences in enhancing the innovation system. This is accomplished through the establishment of this international exhibition and the convergence between investors and inventors to produce inventions that serve humanity, with the participation of nearly 40 countries from around the world, showcasing approximately 200 projects and involving 160 inventors, including 21 Kuwaiti inventors with 14 inventions,” Adwani said.

The minister then addressed the youth, saying: “I call upon our youth to recognize the importance of continuing their academic pursuits while developing their skills in the field of innovation and invention. I urge them to engage in specialties that align with the needs of the job market and strive for the highest levels of achievement and international recognition. This will reflect the prestigious image of our beloved country, Kuwait. The youth are the true wealth of the nation,” he stressed.

“Through today’s exhibition, which we are proud to have launched from our beloved Kuwait, we affirm Kuwait supports and enhances international cooperation in encouraging youth participation in innovation, invention and artificial intelligence as long-term investments. This is how countries rise — through economic diversification and sustainable, comprehensive smart growth based on knowledge and digitization, supporting global economic development,” Adwani concluded.

Waleed Al-Khashti, CEO of Relationships and Corporate Affairs at Zain Kuwait, told Kuwait Times: “Zain is the main supporter of the International Inventions Exhibition in the Middle East, which takes place every year. Zain is committed to being present at this exhibition every year, where we see a group of inventors with new ideas and innovations, which encourages us to support these young people not only at the local level, but also at the regional level in the Middle East. Zain has a great strategy in this regard, focusing on creativity and encouraging it, especially among the youth in Kuwait. We strive to collaborate with them in services and other matters. We also focus on monitoring, and God willing, Zain will be present every year.”
