KUWAIT: A 17-year-old female citizen reported that four young men abducted her in the southern chalets area, but she managed to escape and hide from them in a deserted chalet. The girl added that the four kidnappers searched the area but could not locate her. The girl provided detectives with the alleged kidnappers' description.

Drug dealer

Following up the arrest of a popular actor and producer for drug trafficking, the suspect told detectives that he had ordered a new shipment one week before he was arrested, and it was due to arrive that day. Accordingly, detectives received the parcel that included drugs mailed to him by a Briton. The suspect also confessed that he had recruited seven juveniles to distribute the drugs for him in return for a sum of money and a bonus of one packet for each ten they manage to sell.

Harasser caught

A citizen was arrested for harassing a female citizen and insisting on giving her his mobile phone number and taking hers outside a Fintas restaurant, despite her protests. The girl finally took his number and reported the matter to the police.

Two citizens were arrested for fighting in Salmiya, said security sources, noting that the two men used sharp metal objects during the fight. The suspects were referred to the proper authorities for further action.

Domestic violence

A female citizen called the police reporting that her husband beat her and threw her out of their house in Fintas. A case was filed and the husband is being summoned for further investigations.

Thief identified

Following up the robbery at a money exchange bureau in Fahaheel, detectives managed to identify the culprit through surveillance cameras and arrested him. The suspect, a 30-year-old Syrian, confessed to planning the robbery a month before with hopes that he would get away with a fortune.

Fugitive caught

An Asian wanted for a four-year prison sentence was arrested in Abu Halifa. Security sources said that on seeing a police patrol, the suspect ran and hid inside a garbage dumpster for a while before policemen found him.

Suspect acquitted

The criminal court yesterday acquitted a citizen who had been charged with insulting HH the Amir, burning his citizenship certificate on video and posting the video on social media, and referred him to the psychiatric diseases hospital. Separately, the remand judge yesterday ordered detaining a Kuwait army fighter pilot and a commercial pilot for 15 days pending investigating charges of insulting HH the Amir. - Al-Rai and Al-Anbaa
