KUWAIT: Narcotics detectives filed 10 drug trafficking and importing cases in the period of March 2-8, 2016 and arrested five Arabs and eight Asians in relation to those cases. The department's statistics also showed that detectives managed to seize one kilogram of marijuana, 1,608,000 illicit pills, 780 grams of hashish, 635 grams of heroin and 290 grams of methamphetamine. In addition, detectives also arrested eight people for assisting drug dealers and helped seven families send addicted family members to the psychological diseases hospital.

Diamond smuggling

Customs officers at the Saad Al-Abdullah Airport arrested an Arab man with possession of six plastic bags of diamonds he had hidden in his clothes to avoid paying the custom fees, said security sources.

Dead baby

The dead body of a one-month-old baby was found on the beach outside of a Mahboula hotel, said security sources, noting that further investigations are in progress to identify the baby's parents and hold them legally accountable.

Harboring illegals

Residency detectives raided an office that had been harboring and recruiting a number of residency visa violators, said security sources, noting that the raid resulted in arresting 21 African nationals, including 19 women, in addition to three more people of African nationalities who ran the place.

Liquor possession

Two bedoons were arrested in Abu Halifa with two bottles of liquor, said security sources.

Traffic campaign

As part of its campaigns to protect motorists, Hawally traffic police impounded 19 vehicles, arrested 15 people for traffic violations and referred four juveniles to the juvenile prosecution, the interior ministry said in a statement, pointing out that six of the impounded vehicles were involved in an illegal race while nine were impounded for reckless driving.
