get sick and die like people. March 1 every year celebrates the Arabic, the language Almighty Allah honored and made it the language of worship for Muslims. The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization issued a statement on this occasion, in which it warned against the dangers threatening the Arabic language, calling on Arab countries to enhance the status of this language in daily life. The organization warned against the harms that affect the Arabic language by continuing reliance on foreign languages for teaching in some Arab countries.
The warning and caution are repeated every year, and of course there will not be any change and the suffering of the Arabic language will continue, until one day we will be reading the Holy Quran without understanding its meaning. Then another day will come when we will not know how to read the Holy Quran, rather we will repeat it for worship only. Arabs will then be forced to read the translated Holy Quran, like other Muslims who ignored the language of Islam today.
What do you expect? This must be the end in one or two thousand years, as languages get sick and die like people get sick and die, but with a longer age. The Arabic language is sick today, did not get admitted to the ICU, and will not be soon, as there are still men and women in this nation who defend and enjoy it. But they are suffering from a decrease of supporters and increase of enemies - yes, there are enemies of the Arabic language, and the majority of them are Arabs.
But why do Arabs hate their language? Is it because some of them lived in the West and want to be one of them in everything? Is it because some language scientists here do not want to develop the Arabic language to make it easier to speak? Is it because of those who went against Islam, so against the language of the Holy Quran? Is there anyone who does not believe in the abilities of the Arabic language to deal with sciences? Is it because there are Arabs who are tied to their tribes' language and Arabic became too heavy for them?
The reasons are many and the aim is one - it is the Arabic language, the language of Islam, that is being attacked from all directions, and first attackers today are among the Arabs. So beautiful it is to read the Holy Quran in the language it was revealed in. It is a real bounty - and not any bounty. Descriptions like jewels are not realized by any language other than Arabic, and no heart will shiver or body will shake unless you hear the words of Allah being read with these alphabets of light.
It is the language of hearts and imagination, the language of fears and senses, that you will not get bored from listening to descriptions in it, as it is able to break down light to spectrums touching the hearts of lovers and poets. Beautiful is the Arabic language, and all of us as Muslims should defend it and expand its use.
