KUWAIT: Weapons detectives carried out an inspection campaign at the entrances and exits of Mubarak Al-Kabeer and Sabah Al-Salem Saturday night. The campaign lasted 2.5 hours and resulted in arresting three wanted citizens named Nawaf Ali, Mohammad Humoud and Majid Mohammad, the Ministry of Interior's Relations and Security Information Department said.

Meanwhile, a driver attempted to escape, so he was chased and stopped. An AK-47 and ammunition were found in the car, which belongs to a citizen named Fahd Faleh. The arrested persons were sent to concerned authorities. In another statement, the department said prison authorities arrested a person who attempted to enter the prisons' complex with substances suspected of being drugs. He was sent to the proper authorities for further legal action.

Firemen lowered the lift and freed those trapped inside. No injuries were reported.
