KUWAIT: Tomooh Sports Club and Kuwait Society's Parents of the Disabled, launched an awareness campaign with the theme 'our vote makes a difference', to make disabled people aware of their political rights, as guaranteed by the constitution and law 8/2010, with regards to the rights of the disabled and in accordance with the international treaty on the disabled rights - how they can exercise their political rights in the parliamentary elections. The campaign was launched during an educational gathering for club and society members at the club premises in Rawdha area.

The launch included a short video, a guide book and field visits to the candidates' election headquarters, without endorsements of any candidate. Rihab Buresli, Chairwoman of the club and society, said the campaign was initiated from a societal responsibility towards disabled children and highlighted their participation as a means to achieve the 17 goals of sustainable development that were issued by the United Nations in 2015. "It is also a confirmation of the disabled rights which they should enjoy in full, without discrimination and include their causes as an indivisible part of the sustainable development strategies," she added.
