KUWAIT: Some 22 female prosecutors took their seats yesterday at the main and sub-committees overseeing the 2016 parliamentary elections for the first time in the history of Kuwait.

The female prosecutors shared the responsibilities along with their male peers to chair the electoral committees for the parliamentary elections and supervise the process following the decision of the supreme judicial council which appointed the 22 female prosecutors, a step meant to indulge women in various spheres and highlight their status in the decision making. —KUNA
