No work transaction suspension for inventory this year

KUWAIT: Two recent election candidates - Mubarak Al-Waalan and Farraj Al-Arbeed - yesterday filed complaints at the constitutional court contesting the election results in the fourth constituency. Meanwhile, Deputy chairman of the cooperative sector employees syndicate Jamal Al-Fadhli urged lawmakers who signed the cooperation covenant to respect and not ignore it as it represents national labor aspirations in terms of vocational stability, Kuwaitizing leading positions and preventing co-ops' privatization. Fadhli added that Kuwaitis working in the co-ops sector should be well-trained through accredited training courses jointly run by PAAET and the Manpower and Government Restructuring Program. He also urged MSAL to issue a decision on Kuwaitization to protect national manpower from the abuse of some co-ops' board of directors.

Annual inventory

The Public Authority for Manpower's official spokesperson and Public Relations Director Aseel Al-Mazyad announced that according to the director's instructions to facilitate the flow of transactions towards the end of the year, all the services provided at various labor departments would continue as usual, and will not be suspended for the annual inventory. In the meantime, the investor will be done after official working hours, Mazyad added.

Council session

The Municipal Council scheduled its fourth meeting today since Chairman Muhalhal Al-Khaled cancelled the Nov 21 session due to lack of quorum. The council will discuss a letter from Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Sabah concerning the cases of five council members who ran in the parliamentary elections. Notably, according to article 13 of law number 33/2016 pertaining the Municipality, 'A municipal council member is deemed to have resigned from the council if he runs in the parliamentary elections'.
