RIYADH: Oman and the United Arab Emirates inked on Wednesday an agreement on establishing a joint railway company at projected investments worth some $3 billion, according to Oman News Agency, OMNA. The planned company, in which each side would own half of the stakes, would link up Sahar port with the UAE railway network, OMNA said, noting that it was inked between Oman Railway Company and the UAE Railway Union. According to plans, the network will stretch for 303 kilometers and the train will run at 300 kms per hour. The agreement was inked between Oman and the UAE along with a series of other accords and memorandums of understanding for cooperation in diverse fields namely energy.
