Kuwait: UN's Secretary General Representative and Resident Coordinator to Kuwait Dr. Tarek Al-Sheikh confirmed on Wednesday the international organization's interest in the role of Kuwaiti youngsters in achieving sustainable development and their part in implementing the plan of Kuwait's 2035 Vision (New Kuwait).

This was in a statement made by Dr. Al-Sheikh to KUNA during the time of university students visiting KUNA for the seventh annual training program to qualify students to the headquarters of the UN office in Kuwait.

He extolled KUNA's role in spreading news to society and shed light on the efforts of Kuwaiti youth, commending the constructive and continuous cooperation between the UN office to the country, KUNA and Kuwait University (KU).

The visit of the university students included a tour of the headquarters, where they were briefed on the Office of the UN's Secretary General Representative, UN Development Programme, UN High Commissioner for Refugees, UN Human Settlements Programme, UN International Organization for Migration, World Health Organization, World Food Programme, International Labour Organization and UN International Children's Emergency Fund.

KUNA launched the seventh training program to qualify university students for the season 2022-23, with the participation of 18 male and female students from KU, from August 21 to September 24, teaching them through a journalistic experience.
