KUWAIT: The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Kuwait will start a new fund-raising campaign for refugee and displaced children between July 20 and August 20. The initiative, entitled 'Joy of Eid,' includes clothes, health care, food and shelters, said Director of the UNHCR office in Kuwait Dr Sami Hadadeen during a press conference held to launch the campaign. He added that the aid suggested by the UNHCR will enable the children to stay alive, referring to the pioneering Kuwaiti role in the humanitarian field that helped millions of refugees and displaced people to gain access to a decent life. He mentioned that Kuwait is one of the top five donor countries for the UNHCR on the international scale. Hadadeen clarified that donation process will be done through the official UNHCR website. He concluded his statement by saying that naming Kuwait as a center of humanitarian action led by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah is a translation of what is being seen on the ground. He expressed thanks to all those who contributed to the campaign from the Government of Kuwait and all donors and partners who support the Commission. - KUNA
