KUWAIT: Warba Bank sponsored 'Bonds, Loans & Sukuk Middle East 2017' conference held in Dubai Intercontinental Festival City on 17-18 May 2017. The Bank sponsored that event as it is the region's largest investment and finance conference; and serves as a unique platform for all stakeholders under one roof, including capital market leaders, Sukuk issuers, investors, and regional banking leaders where they can discuss current developments in the local and international markets, in Sukuk markets and various types of transfers.

Commenting on their sponsorship, Warba Bank's Deputy Chief Investment Banking Officer, in the Investment Banking Group, Thuwaini Al-Thuwaini said, "Sponsoring and participating in the first edition of the Bonds, Loans & Sukuk Middle East 2017 Conference was an excellent opportunity for Warba Bank to meet and discuss with sellers and buyers, and to stay abreast of market developments through the dialogue sessions held with the participation of the industry's leaders.

We also discussed the issues related to Sukuk issuances at regional and global levels. In addition, we were able to meet potential customers through the Bank representatives' participation in the conference. We held meetings with investors in the presence of a number of executive heads and heads of financial and treasury departments. That provided us with the latest developments on important topics including financing plans, financing policies, cash flow and liquidity." added Al-Thuwaini.

Moreover, the conference addressed key economic issues, some of which addressed global trends in capital markets and how bond and Sukuk issuers can deal with risks in the new market environment; and understanding the impact of liquidity and how to price debts in the GCC markets, taking into consideration the recovering oil market situation and developing bonds in local currency and Sukuk markets, let alone many other topics that played a central role in providing the more than 900 attending delegates with full information on the subject.

It is worth mentioning that Warba Bank's successful experience in issuing 250M USD Sukuk and its 5-fold coverage has contributed to the bank's position in creating excellent opportunities for investors across the world and gaining their confidence. Accordingly, in line with its strategy to develop its investment instruments, Warba Bank is keen on meeting the members of the investment and business community so as to study their interests in this context and to learn about the current trends in the Sukuk and bonds market in order to take the same as the base of the development of its investment policy aimed at establishing Warba Bank as the leading Islamic bank in the field of corporate finance and investment.
