Welsh police open probe in Kuwaiti student’s death

KUWAIT: A 23-year-old Kuwaiti master’s student was killed in a car accident in Cardiff, Wales. The Wales Online said British police have opened an investigation and urged eyewitnesses to testify. The site said Soultan Al-Shammari died when his silver Corvette collided with a blue Ford Focus and a black Mercedes C220 travelling in the opposite direction on Newport Road’s Rumney Hill at around 4:50 pm on Feb 27. A 23-year-old woman, who was a passenger, remains in a critical but stable condition at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. Nobody else was injured. In a statement published by Wales Online, Shammari’s family said: “Soultan had come from Kuwait to study a master’s degree in law at Cardiff University. He is one of seven brothers all who live in Kuwait. Soultan was passionate in his studies and will be sorely missed by all his family.”
