KUWAIT: One-hundred ninety-seven bodybuilders from 22 countries including Kuwait are participating in the WFF PRO-AM Bodybuilding and Bermuda Beach Model International Championship at the Radisson Hotel. The event is organized by the Rasalsalmiya Fitness Gym Center. The championship consists of five categories for the Bermuda beach model, seven categories for bodybuilding, and two for professional. Seven international judges from various countries are judging the competitors. The first three winner s of each category will receive a medal and trophy, and the first winner will also receive $3,000.

Fitness Manager of Rasalsalmiya Fitness Gym Center Mohamed Salama said this is the second edition of this championship, and they plan to organize it annually. “This championship could be held in any other country in the Middle East in the future. Participation is open for those from any nationality. Kuwait, Iran and Egypt have the largest number of participants,” Salama told Kuwait Times.



“The competition includes categories of different ages including teenagers (under 20 years), juniors (under 30 years), over 30 years, and under 172 cm and above 172 cm height for the bermuda beach model. Bodybuilding has five categories for different weights, one category under 24 years old, and one category of above 50 years old,” he explained. “I aim to promote the sport in general and how we can learn from it. We should not just focus on practicing sports, the performance or nutrition, but we should have full awareness about related issues. This is our goal for the championship and this sport in general,” concluded Salama.

The first winner in each category are :

The bodybuilding categories: Sameh Abdelmalek in Extreme category, Sam Rezaelnour in Fitness category, Nader Zareinour in Athletic category, Hossein Haidar in Super body category, Ahmed Elsayed in Junior category, and Javad Lalavi in Performance. The overall winner is Sameh Abdelmalek.
