KUWAIT: A citizen and his son beat the citizen's wife - a Gulf national - in her house. The woman went to Mubarak Hospital with bruises and grazes on her face to get a medical report. She then went to the police station and told them she was beaten by her husband and stepson because of previous disputes. Police are investigating.

Detectives are looking for a cabbie who deliberately hit a citizen's car and verbally insulted him before escaping. The citizen went to Nugra police station and told police he had a traffic dispute with the roaming taxi driver, so he rammed into his car, causing extensive damage, then escaped. The citizen gave police the license plate number of the taxi.

Cables stolen

Farwaniya police raided a fenced-off yard owned by a Bangladeshi and found it full of copper cables, electric transformers and paint cans he stole from houses under construction. The discovery was made when police noticed a man walking with a large quantity of copper wire, so they asked him to stop, but he threw the wires and fled. Police chased him till he reached the fenced-off area, where he disappeared. Police found the material and a Bangladeshi woman, who said she was his wife. She said her husband steals the material from houses under construction, then sells it to people he knows for cheap.
