KUWAIT: Head of the women's committee at Kuwait Fencing Association Loulua Al-Ayoub said the achievement made by Kuwait's women team during the Arab Fencing Championship in Bahrain was due to hard and well-planned work over many years, coupled with support from the board of directors and Chairman Abdullah Al-Waalan, and cooperation between the association's technical committee lead by Abdelkareem Al-Shamlan and coach Diego from Italy.

Ayoub said the women team is in a training camp in Jordan that will continue until Feb 5 to prepare for the Asian Fencing Championship in March. She said the Arab Championship was highly competitive on the women's side as the best Arab teams participated. She added the bronze medal that was won by fencers Al-Anoud Al-Hazeem, Suhad Al-Naqeeb, Nour Al-Saeed and Fouz Al-Refae came after hard efforts and high spirit during the championship, despite their young age compared to other teams.
