KUWAIT: A number of workers demonstrated outside two locations belonging to their company and damaged some properties in protest of their unpaid wages. Police had headed to a shopping mall under construction in Farwaniya following a report about a demonstration of nearly 500 workers. Police cordoned the area and summoned officers from the Manpower Public Authority to speak with the workers who said that they were not paid for four months. A similar scene happened near the company's head office in Kuwait City where nearly 700 workers demonstrated for the same reason. Manpower authority officers spoke with officials from the company who promised to pay the due salaries as early as yesterday, according to a security source. - Al-Jarida
