Kuwait's largest, most inclusive interior design and decor exhibition

KUWAIT: Founder and organizer of Mirzaam Expo Farah Al-Humaidhi announced the launch of the fourth edition of Mirzaam Expo, Kuwait’s largest and most inclusive interior design and decor exhibition. The expo will take place at Kuwait International Fairgrounds from Dec 12 to 16 in Halls 5, 6 and 7. On the sidelines of the launch ceremony held on Wednesday at Al-Andalus Complex, Humaidhi revealed that at least 15 percent of Mirzaam’s revenues are allocated for marketing, simultaneously with the creation of a comprehensive media plan to bolster sponsors and participants, starting by hosting an unusual press conference for the official announcement in the local and international print, audio and visual media.

She indicated the unconventional press conference for Mirzaam 4 is distinguished by taking the media and sponsors through banners telling the story of Mirzaam — about its founding and evolving journey. Media and sponsors were introduced to the launch of Mirzaam’s first edition in 2019 and over the past four years, and 70 percent of former partners are still participating with Mirzaam.

Humaidhi elucidated that Mirzaam consistently prioritizes being the premier and ultimate destination for individuals seeking the latest and distinctive trends in the realm of interior design. Every year, the exhibition endeavors to provide a unique and unparalleled experience for its visitors, solidifying its position as a hub for innovation and inspiration in the ever-evolving world of interior aesthetics.

“This year it will include more than 230 local companies, in addition to more than 300 international brands covering more than 30 categories in the world of interior design and decor. The expo extends over an area exceeding 25,000 square meters, making it the largest and most important expo of its kind, where it is expected to have 400,000 visitors this year,” she added.

Humaidhi emphasized that visitors have the convenience of discovering a comprehensive array of offerings all in one place. From interior and exterior finishes to furniture, accessories, kitchens and various home essentials, the diverse range of products aims to cater to every aspect of home design and functionality. This one-stop destination ensures that individuals seeking to enhance their living spaces can seamlessly explore and acquire everything they require under one roof.

Humaidhi revealed that Mirzaam 4 is cooperating with the 2nd edition of the Kutayba Alghanim Design Award, the 2023 Furniture Design Competition, supported by Alghanim Industries and Safat Home, which focuses on the skills and creativity of young designers in the Gulf region. “Mirzaam 4 will include a special corner to display the nominated designs and the best design will be chosen. After that, Safat Home will manufacture the winning product and display it in all its branches across Kuwait,” she explained.

Humaidhi added the expo presents visitors with opportunities to win valuable prizes while shopping at the exhibition, including the grand prize of a Volvo car, as well as KD 10,000 in cash prizes and more than 10 valuable prizes provided by Mirzaam’s sponsors. Participating companies are also set to offer exclusive offers and products to visitors during the exhibition.

Humaidhi asserted Mirzaam 4’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause, emphasizing that Mirzaam was one of the first donors to support people in Gaza through its participation in the Kuwaiti Red Crescent campaign dedicated to upholding Palestinian rights.

She underscored the heartfelt connection between Kuwaitis and Gaza, affirming that Mirzaam has set up a special corner for collecting public donations for the “Help Palestine” campaign organized by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society. This strategic move aims to foster support and solidarity, channeling resources towards bolstering Palestinian steadfastness in Gaza. To enhance the overall experience for visitors, particularly families and women, Humaidhi highlighted the allocation of a children’s area with educational and recreational activities, along with a place for breastfeeding mothers.

To foster innovation, a competition for the best pavilion has been organized and expanded to three categories: Most aesthetic, most creative design and most sustainable. Winners, chosen by public vote after jury selection, will be announced at the closing ceremony on Dec 16. Mirzaam collaborates with “Dawrat” to enhance the educational aspect, managing lectures with interior design specialists. The public can engage in conversations, and the lectures are free for visitors, expressing gratitude to sponsors, notably Zain and Volvo Cars, emphasizing their continued support. Kuwait Times and Kuwait News are the media sponsors of the fourth edition of Mirzaam Expo.
