KUWAIT: Zain, the leading telecommunications company in Kuwait, participated in the honorary match of former Kuwait National team and Al Arabi Sporting Club player Ahmad Jasem on the occasion of his retirement. The friendly match, held between Kuwait and Cameron, came under the patronage and presence of the Minister of Commerce and Industry Khalid Al Roudhan and General Director of the Public Authority for Sports Dr Humoud Fulaiteh at Jaber Al Ahmad International Stadium.

Zain’s participation in this honorary match came in line with the company’s keenness on encouraging the various efforts exerted to contribute to the development of the youth and sports sectors in Kuwait. Such efforts include the recognition of distinguished Kuwaiti athletes whose achievements contributed to raising Kuwait’s name high in regional and international sporting events.

Ahmad Jasem is considered one of the top goalkeepers who played for Kuwait’s National Football Team and Al Arabi Sporting Club. His football career started in 1992, and he greatly contributed to achieving many titles with Al Arabi Sporting Club. His achievements with Kuwait’s National Football Team included winning the Arabian Gulf Cup title in 1998, as well as attaining the second place title in the AFC Asian Cup, where he played a big role in reaching the final match by stopping multiple crucial penalty shots.

Supporting Kuwaiti sports in general and football in particular will always be an integral part of Zain’s Corporate Sustainability strategy towards the youth and sports sectors. The company further confirms its commitment towards Kuwaiti champions, which resembles the company’s endless confidence in the competencies of these athletes and their capabilities in excelling in different sports.

As a leading telecommunications company in Kuwait, Zain is constantly looking to identify and support excellence across the sports sector. The company will continue to put Kuwaiti National teams and individual athletes at the forefront of its priorities and pledges to continue motivating them to achieve all the recognition they deserve.
