KUWAIT: Zain, the leading digital service provider in Kuwait, announced its sponsorship of Oud Fashion Talks, a cultural event on sustainable fashion that featured a number of panel discussions at Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Cultural Center (JACC). The talks were attended by many local and global designers and fashion experts.

Zain's support to this cultural event came as part of its keenness to support the various social efforts that are of interest to the local community and contribute to spreading and implementing sustainable solutions across industries. The fashion industry is one of the biggest global industries that create a negative impact on the environment and consume energy and natural resources.

During his speech, Waleed Al Khashti, Chief Corporate Communications and Relations Officer, commented: "At Zain, we realize the important role played by the private sector in encouraging and supporting bright ideas and efforts of Kuwait's talents in the local market, especially the ones that offer a real-world added value and shine into the international arena. I'm happy to be here to announce our support as a national company to this unique event".

Al Khashti added: "We are proud of Zain's main sponsorship to Oud Fashion Talks, which includes an exciting program of many cultural activities featuring celebrated international guests who visit Kuwait specially for this event. The goals of this initiative are well in line with Zain's sustainability strategy, through which we are committed to supporting similar local programs that serve and promote sustainability and preserving the environment".

Al Khashti continued: "Zain's social message seeks to preserve natural resources and increase awareness of the role of every individual in reducing energy consumption, recycling, and other sustainable ways that contribute to combating climate change, the very same goals called for by this event". Al Khashti concluded: "I'd like to stress on Zain's keenness and commitment in supporting similar national initiatives that have such clear goals. The Kuwaiti community is full of passionate young people who have bright ideas and real-life solutions to the local market's challenges".

Oud Fashion Talks aimed at creating a hub for the local and global fashion worlds. Many celebrated international guests were hosted to discuss the importance of sustainable solutions within the fashion industry. The event also shed light on local Kuwaiti talents, and allowed them to exchange and gain knowledge and experiences along with the global guests.
