KUWAIT: Zain, the leading digital service provider in Kuwait, announced its collaboration with the Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC), a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), to supply the quarantine center project at Al-Zour area - that is executed by KIPIC - with a telecommunications and networking digital infrastructure. The collaboration came to support the country's tremendous efforts in these exceptional circumstances to fight the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Kuwait.

Zain's collaboration with KIPIC came as part of its commitment towards the nation during this crisis, ultimately reflecting the Kuwaiti private sector's role in shouldering the oil sector for the nation's wellbeing. This is especially true in such times of crisis, where the Kuwaiti society's strength and unity are at their highest.

Advanced solutions
Zain offered a wide range of advanced solutions and services as per the highest international standards to build an integrated digital infrastructure for telecommunications and networking at the Al-Zour Quarantine Center project, which is fully executed by KIPIC.

This came with the aim of allowing the quarantine's residents to benefit from wired and wireless telephone services, as well as high speed Internet services to communicate with their families while they reside at the center. In addition, the services will be used by the Ministry of Health's medical and administrative staff while they operate at the center to serve their personal and professional needs.

Under directives from the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), the Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC) executes the Al-Zour Quarantine Center project to serve the needs of the Ministry of Health (MOH) in regards to fighting the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Kuwait. This initiative comes as part of KIPIC's social responsibility and commitment towards the nation during this crisis.

The center features a capacity of up to 1,600 beds, and is equipped with all necessary and vital facilities as per MOH's requirements, including check-up rooms, recovery units, quarantine units, clinics, a laboratory, a pharmacy, and more.

Al-Zour Quarantine Center features nearly 850 rooms that were all supplied with 5-star hotel facilities. The center also features private accommodation for the medical staff, doctors, and nurses to prevent commuting to and from the location and minimize contact as much as possible. The accommodation is also supplied with the same hotel-class facilities of the quarantine's rooms, and the entire project will be handed over to MOH's Preventive Health Department very soon.
